Get to know Kate.
CEO & Founder of The Together Collective.
Did you always see yourself running your own business?
I worked in the corporate world for 6 years but it was always my dream to run my own business, and ultimately be my own boss. I was just waiting for the right idea and for the courage to take the plunge!😊
What would your other dream job be?
I love the sunshine and exploring new places, so it would have to be something to do with travelling.
3 Fun Facts about you?
Before I set up Virtually Together, I ran a business organising luxury Hen Parties
When I first became an entrepreneur I did lots of doggy day care and dog walking to give me enough money to fund my start up journey!
I have just committed to myself to do a Triathlon, so now that I’ve said it here, I’m going to have to do it
What are the challenges faced as a small business owner?
As we are a small team of 3, one challenge for me personally is needing to mould myself to whatever the business needs at that time, whether it is to be the HR Director, Finance Director or IT Director etc! There are some personas I enjoy more than others 😉
Owning your own business is like a rollercoaster. We have challenges each and every day. I think it’s what keeps us on our toes and spurs us on. As a business we need to make sure we learn from each challenge we overcome so we can continue to improve and be the best!
What do you love most about running Virtually Together?
I love launching new experiences! One of my biggest aims is to ensure that we have an amazing variety of experiences in our portfolio. I want to ensure that our clients can keep coming back and keep finding things that they want to do together.
I also love that we bring joy to teams and enable them to have fun 😊 It always get a huge buzz from positive feedback from clients and good reviews.
If you were to host your own virtual workshop what would it be?
This is such a tricky question. I think I could do some form of bootcamp…or, perhaps I could do a workshop on ‘turning your business idea into reality’!
If you have made it to here, I hope you enjoyed learning a bit more about me and thank you for taking the time to read!
