Our Go-To Guide.
1. Core values and a clear vision.
It’s crucial to communicate why you do what you do in order to unite your employees in your company’s mission. Making sure your employees are bought into your values and vision will enable your team to work cohesively and effectively. This in turn builds a positive company culture as when teams are aware of what their mission is and how to approach it, their performance improves. Good performance = happy team = positive company culture.
2. Open and transparent communication.
Having open and transparent communication leads to greater respect and trust within teams and companies, building a positive culture. These kinds of skills can be developed through team building exercises, encouraging teams to communicate effectively towards a shared goal. Our Virtual Escape Room and Table Top Escape Game are great team building experiences.
3. A sense of community.
Monthly get-togethers are a great way to build a sense of community and build connections between team members. It could be a drink after work, a morning coffee break or an organised team activity like our experiences with expert hosts. Our Office Party Quiz Show or Virtual Cocktail Masterclass are perfect for monthly socials.
4. Build connections.
How your team work together and how they connect is an important part of a company's culture. It is proven that teammates who connect outside of normal work tasks come to understand each other’s strengths and weaknesses far better, and can therefore coordinate tasks more effectively. We have workshops purpose built for this aim, such as our Get To Know Your Colleagues Boardgame.
5. Leadership and role modelling.
Establishing what qualities and behaviours leaders need to be a good role model is the first step. Behaviours such as being consistent, demonstrating openness, recognising good behaviour and not tolerating bad behaviour, are just a few things managers can do to promote a healthy environment. Our management skills workshops provide all the tools you need.
6. Respect and inclusivity.
Promoting a company culture of diversity, equality and inclusion will improve your team's experience at work, this can be through a greater sense of safety in their environment, being more confident to speak up or enjoyment through working with like-minded people. Our DEI experiences could benefit your team.
7. Regular mental health check-in’s.
Looking after your teams mental health is a crucial part of building a working culture your team are comfortable in. A greater sense of mindfulness will not only improve their own productivity but also their ability to work as a team. You can browse our wellbeing experiences here.
8. Upskilling your team
Providing opportunities for continuous learning and development will show your team that you care about their career progression and success. You can provide opportunities for self-development such as our Team Energy Leadership Session or help them learn a new skill such as British Sign Language Workshop.
9. Recognition and rewards
There’s always something to celebrate and commemorate at work and a big thank you can come in shall shapes and sizes. Whether it’s a work-iversary or celebrating the success of winning a big deal - giving back to your team never goes a miss. It could be a lovely gift box or hamper or a surprise and delight pop-up experience stand in the office!
10. Having a work/life balance
Most companies have found that a balance of WFH and being in the office creates a more flexible and supporting working environment for employees and helps them enjoy a better work/life balance. A good work/life balance increases productivity as employees will be refreshed and well rested.
